Post Test Drove TLS

FYI, for those interested, I test drove the TLS while in Detroit yesterday for about 20 minutes(Pearl Wht/Parch - nice combo. Also sat in the Agean Blue and Black Int. with bowling ball trim - not as bad in person!). A couple of observations: I am 6'2" and my head came 1" from the room. The back seat area behind where I would sit as driver was similar. Anyone taller may have a problem with this. Also, the suspension appeared to be pretty stiff and I felt EVERY friggin crack, pot-hole, etc. of the pathetic Motor City Roads. It was VERY uncomfortable (may not be as bad on asphalt covered freeways as in L.A.)

I was very impressed with the acceleration, and the suspension kept the car surprising flat during cornering. I had read previously that someone did not experience "torque steer" when driving this car; however, when I jumped on the accelerator, I did notice it although not as bad as my Lumina LS. The Nav system was impressive, very easy to set up and it was very quick and accurate. I was intially hesitant to consider buying this option and wanted to explore it, but with a blond wife who can't read maps it would come in handy!

Other obs: Idle is very smooth (was told by saleman it had "hydraulic motor mounts" to isolate vibrations. The Bose system ROCKS! I plan to test drive again this weekend. Don't plan to buy at MSRP - nice car but I will wait till the hype dies down. There is so much base TL inventory sitting on all of the Acura lots that I have visited in Detroit and Indianapolis where I live.
