Temperature at discharge dashvents

Guys--I wondered if you like me notice how warm a discharge you get in the afternoon when going home from work etc.? I have my auto set at 70 degrees, the sun will be out and the vents are really pumping some warm air. It's true that I park usually in a parking deck area and that in the morning drive, it was chilly but my wonder is if "they all do it". I'm getting roasted. Thanks in advance. Streetrod

The temperature of your vents output really depends on your previous settings. If you previously set your temperature at 70 degrees, then your vent will output at 70 degrees. In order to get the outside temperature through the vents, set your temperature to 60 degrees. To disable the vents, activate the recirculating feature.

The auto climate modulates the temp based on the control setting and the outside temp, and the inside sensor. Part of the prgramming is to provide gradual temp changes, not roast or freeze. That is why the owner's manual tells you to get quickest cooling by setting on 60, or heating by setting temp high. This bypasses the "soft" settings.

BTW, these autoclimates use the most fuel because the compressor runs nearly all the time. Most efficient cooling is done by setting the fan at the highest setting, then shutting it off. But this is of course a pain.
