i push my TCS button but i dont even hear the click you would with any button like that

should something on my dash indicate if TCS is on or not? a light?

 

Didn't look in your Owner's Manual before you asked this question, did you?

When you turn TCS off, the TCS icon on the dash lights up.

 

When you push the button the light on your dash should come on (and when it does that its telling you that the TCS is OFF)

 

i guess the button is broken, nothing turns on and i dont hear a "click"

wait, so say the button dont work to turn on and off, then naturally its "on" since i dont see a light?

 

there is not supposed to be a click, check behind the panel to make sure the wires are all plugged in.

 

Maybe the dash light blew. Whenever the car is started, all working bulbs on the dash will light up for a moment for a bulb check. Check if the TCS light lights up at all.

 

The TCS switch is an electronic momentary switch. The "click" you hear form the sunroof switch for example, is actually the relay, not the switch. No audible feedback from the TCS switch is normal. But yeah, sounds like the bulb is out.

Hell, give it a test. Go find a puddle, or break out the garden hose and wet the tires, and ***MASH*** the gas :P press the TCS button, rinse and repeat. You should notice an obvious difference between "On" and "Off".

No. Tap doesn't equal mash, floor, punch or stomp.

The goal is to press the accelerator hard enough to get your front wheels spinning to see if the Traction Control System kicks in. Geez, this isn't rocket science.

 

When you first start the car and all your lights come on does the TCS light come on with all of them? If it doesnt then im going to guess that its just a bad bulb.

Read your Owner's Manual or shine a flashlight at the dash and you'll see where the warning lights are.
