TCS and ABS lights
TCS and ABS lights
OK, so my car is starting to act kind of weird.
Earlier today after I left work, I was pulling up to a red light and noticed that a bunch of the lights on the gauge cluster were on so I took a closer look and saw that my RPMs were at 0 and the car was off. I thought that was kind of odd and didn't feel myself hitting the key or anything pulling up to the light (like I said all the lights on the dash were on so the key was still in ON position). I put it up in neutral and it started right back up.
A few hours after I got home, I left again to go up to Wing Stop to pick up dinner for me and my roommate. When I was driving, all the sudden the TCS and ABS light came on. Traffic started to pick up and I hit the gas and I felt a kind of thud as it down shifted itself (I was in regular drive mode). I was about a block away so I pulled into the place and got my food. When I restarted after I got back in, the lights were off.
These aren't signs on the tranny starting to go are they?
I thought people talk about the check engine light and D5 (D4 in my case) light blinking with transmission failing.
What is happening to my car??

I would read the trans failure signs on acura.com or on the thread here has a copy of same.
While the good news could be just a bad ignition switch!
CAll Acura and run your vin
for possible recall on same 1-800-382-2238 x5

Well, just the TCS light came on while I was driving today. Nothing really felt different or anything and when I pulled up to a red light, I put it up into neutral and turned it off and restarted and the light was off

^^ I called the number and registered my car and it said that the ignition switch recall had been done but the shift interlock had not been done. The car did actually get stuck in park the other day and I had to take the little plastic piece off the trim around shifter and push the little lever down.
Oh, and they also said there was never a transmission done under warranty so I am still on the original one at 140K miles.

I'll make an appt. at the dealer for the shift interlock recall and see what they say about the TCS light. I bet they won't be able to reproduce it because it has only happened to me twice and goes away when I restart the car.
