Taurus SHO??
Anyone know the 0-60 times for the Taurus SHO? I raced one last night and beat him by atleast 1 car length. We stopped at the red light and talked, and he couldnt believe that I beat him. I was kinda suprised too. I thought those SHO's were fast. I think they're DOHC V8's if i'm not mistaken...
Up to '95, the SHO had a V6 rated 220hp @6200 max torque 200 ft-lbs @4800 (i think it was a yamaha engine). The car itself was ~2950 lbs (this was the OLD body style).
From '95 to '99 the V6 was replaced with a V8 rated 235hp @ 6100 max torque 230 ft-lbs at 4800. The cars weight increased to ~3400 lbs (new body style).
I've heard Taurus owner say that the V6 version was much quicker than the V8; it weighed less and made more HP down lower.
If the V8's tranny gearing sucks I have no doubt you could beat it; both it and the TL spec comparably.

Both you guys are right on target. The '92 SHO was by far the most powerful (Yamaha) , but Ford found that it was way to much engine for the rest of the drivetrain and suspension. When Ford's contract with Yamaha ended they started building their own version, hence a V8, but it was much heavier and not as lively. Overall the car is fast for a Taurus, but a TL should take it easily.
