Has anyone taken out their resonators with Comptech Exhaust? if so, how much louder is it? advantages and disadvantages...Going to take it out tommorrow and i want to know if i should or shouldnt...

 

I don't have comptech exhaust but doens't it sound nice as is?
I mean, how loud do you want your car to sound? TL is a luxury car, I personally wouldn't remove it.

 

i thought the comptech exhaust would be louder but when i installed it, it wasnt what i had expected...so that is why im thinking about taking out the resonator

 

How long have had your Comptech Exhaust? Mine has a very nice purr to it. It gets a lot louder if I've been driving for about 20 minutes or so. It's pretty quiet when I first start the car though.

Any louder and I don't think it would sound right. Just my opinion.

i had it for about a month. It sounds nice the first 20 minutes after i start the far, but after that, i barely notice it.

 

I had my resonator removed after I had my Magnaflow exhaust installed. Now it is much louder. Not the civic fart pipe loud but a high performance sounding deep tone. I had the resonator on for a couple of days but it was just too quiet with it on for my tastes.

I had that exact setup before I got the AEM CAI. I thought it gave a good sound but nothing compared to the CAI. I think it is definately worth taking out the resonator. My brother just got a Accord V6 and we are going take his out soon.

Weird, my car is considerably louder after 20 minutes of driving than when I first start my car. I've also had mine for around 1 month, maybe a little more but less than 2. Maybe it's because I have headers too.

does taking out the resonator offer any performance gains?
