Taking the car to acura dealer.

Hey guys, next week I'm going to take my car to the acura dealer to have my tranny checked out. They told me 98 to 2003 has tranny issues. I have a question though. I got tein basics on my car, do yall think they can still check it out with the car being lowered? Also I have a cold air intake and headers on the car, does that effect whether they will replace the tranny for free or not? Thanks guys. I hope they can replace it for free.

You'll be fine...my dealership doesn't care that I've modded my car. Actually they like when I bring it in because they are used to seeing the older folks driving TL's that are plain stock and boring. You can see what mods I have below. You will have to pay for the inspection if they don't find anything wrong with your tranny but if they do the fee will be waived as long as your car is covered by the warranty.

They got your car on the lift with no problems? Also, how much is the fee? Thanks.

the best thing to do would just call them and ask. I asked if I could bring mine down after I got it for them to run it around some to make sure it was ok, and they didnt charge anything. Just ask if you could come in on a down time.

no problems but I only have a 1.5/1.75 drop. I'm not sure how much yours is. The fee was $54 if I remember correctly...but somewhere in the 50's for sure. Yeah, I would give them a call and see what they say. Of course you don't have to tell them who you are, just ask the questions and see what they say.

I told them already. They just told me to bring it in early in the morning. Curious if they going to say something like, they can't work on it cuz it's too low.

the early in the morning is their busiest time. that's when the expect that people will just come by and drop off their car...but I am assuming you will be waiting. If you are make sure you tell them that you are waiting and you car should be looked at first, at least that's what my dealer does. Good luck

I think you should be fine. When my transmission blew a few weeks ago, I was a bit concerned about warranty coverage due to the mods (check signature for the mods). But they didn't bring it up at all and my car was out of there in 3 days.

they shouldnt care at all if you have some mods - there are only a few % of all the TLs that are modded, and there are many more that havent seen VTEC more than a few times that still have tranny problems.

Tischer is a cool dealer. I don't think they will have any problems with it.

i didnt like tischer sales and stuff but the service department has done me pretty much right. they did put my front lip on with huge gaps, but they also replaced it with a brand new one for free when i said i wasn't happy with it.

they do charge a lot for parts compared to some other dealers.
