Taked my tl to the track
I just go to the track yesterday and get verry disapointed about my 1/4 miles time .. i think a 99 tl should be 15.7 stock but now with all my modification ( I/H/P TypeS Tb and Axle-back) i was only able to get 15.9 ive tried serval things, start at 2krpm, 0rpm.. the wheaters whas pretty humid but changed my friends time by maybe 0.2 sec only .. ive now 18 inch but they are lightweight 2pc forged.. my car have now about 180 000km (110 000miles) and a new tranny.. i know ive a transmission mount to change and my mecanician told me that my motor mount maybe need to be changed .. maybe something is wrong with my car , any advices ?

You took it to the track?
Damn Motor mounts seem to screwing with a lot of people lately...
Can't say what is wrong with your TL - but a few things - you have a heavy system in the trunk? Was your TL warm before you got on the track? you warm your tires up? What type of gas were you using? premium or regular? Hmmm...

well the rims could be slowing you down. 18 and that size rubber is more weight. and on a wheel its where teh weight is on the wheel more so than the overall weight. Have you done any type of tuneup lately?

dood dont give up, blame it on the weather
MrAlex and I raced a couple of weeks ago, and we were dead even, and I raced a '04 TL weeks ago and was pretty much even with it from 15 to 95mph (when SHE shut it off ) so i know for fact my car can do better than 15.9 so if he was even with me his car should do better too... confusing...
im gonna take my car to the track before the end of the summer hopefully and we'll see.... if im still in the 15s im selling the fucking car.

What was your 60' time?
Your wheels are slowing you down. I know that for a fact, because I have 19-pound 18"s on my car with Toyo T1-S 235/40/18 tires, and I can feel that I'm getting much better traction that last season on the stock tires but my 60' times are still in the same neighborhood.

cleaning IM and running some gumout high mileage injector cleaner will help. gate shift and hold your gear close to redline, shift before because there is going to be a slight delay before the tranny upshifts.

usually the next line after reaction time is ur 60ft and sorry to say those times suck.
if u could get it to 2.0-2.2 u will see ur time drop off considerably. any reduction in ur 60ft by .01 usually drops off ur time by .2
and by your mods u are still making about the same HP as a stock car going by ur trap speed.
some things to consider the next time at the track:
-take out all things not bolted down in ur car
-have less than 1/4 tank of gas. 1 gallon of gas weighs 7 lbs.
-increase ur tire pressure cuz u want some spinning on take off
-stiffer springs in the rear to help minimize wt transfer to the rear
-try open exhaust ie no cat or mufflers.
-take off power steering belt. will free up a few extra HP
-advance timing (dont know if u could do it) i know its easy on the integra
-try some race fuel
these are only suggestions and not the rules but following some of these will help with ur time and working on ur 60ft.
