Question Tailight question

Well i have a 2003 tl-s satin silver to give u guys a good idea and iam lookin to spiff up the tailights by smoking them out BUT iam not sure if i should get them painted for 50$ or should i jus buy the tint film that goes over the actual light. However i want the reverse and turnsignals left exposed and it seems like the only way i can do this is by getting it painted OR applying the tint and then carefully razor blading it out iam not sure about that with my sketchy hands. Anyways if u guys can give me ur opnion i would greatly appreciate it

You can apply the tint and draw a line with a pencil or chalk pen then remove and cut it.
