T-boned

I recently got t-boned in my 03tl. It was fixed through the insurance company and no It was not my fault. Some old man was making an illegal u-turn with his eyes closed. It was like $5,000 dollars worth of damage

It is a lease. My questions are,

#1 when I return this car are they going to give me a hard time about this????

#2 And if I use the option to buy does this lower the price negotiated in the begining???

The price isn't lowered if you're in a closedend lease where the residual value was negotiated at the beginning of the lease. They won't sell it to you cheaper unless they really want to get it off their hands.

#1. As long as it was fixed by a shop approved by the Ins. company, there's nothng they can say.

#2. One thing people neglect to consider is the decreased value of a vehicle once it was in an accident. Ask your insurance agent about getting possibly getting reimbursed for it.

For example, you have a Ferrari and someone hits it. It is fixed to 100% OEM. Is it still worth the same car as one that was never in an accident? No.

An Acura is not a Ferrari, but it's not a Hyundai either.

Also, if you were considering a lease buy out at the end of your term, wait as long as possible THEN call the lease company to negotiate a final price.

The dealer will probably not tell the person buying the car that it was in an accident, so the value to them is the same.

Any accident where the insurance company gets involved will most likely be reported by CarFax. If a buyer of a used car does not check CarFax, then I guess PT Barnam is proved right again.

In my search for a TL, I've had dealers give me free copies of the CF. All I had to do is insist on it.
