......BY A 3.0 CL! Really....how fast can they be? I thought. I was late for work today so I took the toll expressway. I was really hauling asse. I notice a car weaving in and out of traffic a ways back trying to get to me. He was droped on its nuts I noticed and had clear corners. I was going already about 85 so I womped on it before he got to me and he had no problem getting on me. I got to about 115 and he was still gaining. 125....oh.....still gaining. He got to about my front passanger door and had to slow down due to a car in his lane. But ****, i was sure in shock. Must have been the 5-speed with some mods, huh?

well there was really nobody on the road that early and the speeds might have been a little exagerated. Im not positive. The point is that he was ripping me a new ass hole.

No such thing as a 5 speed 3.0 CL, they were all 4 speed automatics. They have 200hp but a whole lot less weight to lug around.

Wow, forgot to add some real knowledge about the topic at hand. My brother has a 98 3.0CL and I can tell you flat out if you have a Type S there is no way he should have caught you. Even with mods (my brother has headers & Injen CAI) the car doesn't pull hard enough (although it does pull) to catch you at that speed so easily. What I can tell you is that there are a lot of guys swaping out the 3.0 motors for the Prelude motor (H22 I think it is?) It's almost as simple as dropping it right in...with that under the hood it opens them up to more mods like turbos, etc... If he did that then he'll catch you no problem!

 

Sly is right i have been in his brothers car and he can pull on me or give me a good race, but he can't pull on an S. Coulda been the engine swap or he could have been spraying a small enough shot that didnt let him shoot pass you, but just enough to let him edge you out.

 

As much as I wish I did....I dont own a type-s. Its a 99. All cosmetics and sound mods. My closest thing to a proformance mod would be the lack of a resonator.
