Skweaking center armrest

I recently bought a 99 TL and I am enjoying all the bells and whistles. One thing that is really annoying is the sweaking from the center armrest.
Any ideas as to what can be be the cause. Any suggestions as to what I can do to fix the sweaking.
Great site!!!

Try WD-40 or any decent lubricant.

it's probably your seat belt buckle that's squeaking....everybody's had or still has it. There's various methods to fixing this...try doing a search.

Bro..I know what you are talkin about because my center armrest was squeaking also...you need to get some pieces of weather stripping and put it under the first cover of the armrest (on the bottom of the leather between the little tray and the top) and that fixes everything...only thing is you will need to push the top down a little firmer so it will stay shut, but no more squeaks so its worth it! good luck

Is not the center armrest, but the seat belt buckle as "fahoumh" mention. I had the same problem until I figure out that is was the seat belt and not the center console. Just put some wd-40 below where the belt goes in on the buckle, right were the metal piece moves back and forward on that little hole.

The armrest moves foward and backward. As a result, it squeaks when the tracks/wheels dry out... Just spray some WD-40 in it, and it will stops the squeaks sound.

It IS the armrest. I bought my '99 in July and it used to bother the sh!t out of me. I brought it to the dealer for oil change and they replaced the latch. Dosen't rattle/squeak anymore.

Dealer told me there was a service bulletin on this.

i had the same issue. I took it to the local acura dealer and they said there was a known issue and a memo about that. they fixed mine under warranty. now its stiffer and doesnt slide in and out so easily, so you can rest your arm on it without it moving on you.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I used a felt pad and cut strips from it, I placed the strips along the edges of the bottom tray and along the back and front of the top lift up section. The unit is now tight and does NOT sweak!!!!
