Post Swaybars?

Hey guys. I am going to get swaybars, but I can't decide which kind to buy. Comptech, Neuspeed, or Mugen? Which do a better job, and are there any other options to consider. I want my car to ride on rails, but not be harsh, so if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears (well at least partially)

Oh, one more thing - How much does a typical install cost? Thanks!

Me too. Is it good to go with the same company for the springs and swaybars. Going to order them both in a few days or even today.

Can anybody tell me the effect that just swaybars will have on ride quality? I know the car will handle better, but will I feel more bumps than I do now? I would like to keep the stock ride as much as possible...

i don't think mugen makes swaybars for us. i think our choices are neuspeed, comptech and eibach. someone correct me if i'm wrong.
most people here have comptechs. and you should change the springs (at least) before you get swaybars. and for those who want to keep the stock ride, then comptechs are definitely the way to go.

Go with the comptechs - they were specifically designed for the TL and everybody here likes them. Installation will cost $100-120, takes 2 hours, or you can do them yourself, very simple - just need patience for the front bar. You don't need springs or new wheels/tires first. The ride will be slightly stiffer in that you will have more road feel transmitted thru the body and steering - you will feel more in control and more in touch with the limits of the car. I think they are the second best mod you can do with the first being new tires.

I just got Comptech springs & sways, and 18" rims and tires over the weekend. The handling is amazing. The only "problem" with getting it all done at the same time is that I don't know which component is responsible for which improvement. Overall, the ride is firmer, but not annoyingly stiff. My wife thinks that the ride feels the same. It just feels a lot different when her and the kids aren't in the car. My install was $50, but that was part of the bigger package. Install time for a pro is fast, so if you go to a speed shop, you may be able to negotiate a similar price.

Thanks guys! I have to check around with some local shops and see what I can get for install. Anyone know a good install shop in the Bethesda/Silver Spring/MD-DC area?

If you want I could hook you up with Greenwich Acura up here.

Great deal. $1450 parts and labor for springs and sways.

It reduces the lean your car does on a turn...the lean is still there, but barely.. That's all it's designed to do, really, and the only difference you will feel, besides the fact that it also further tightend up the chassis with added rigidity(kinda like the strut tower bar up top)

What! Great deal??? You can get both those items from Tim for <$598. And you think $850 labor for less than 4 hours work is OK? Shit I'll install those for you for a lot less than that - that is a complete ripoff!

That's OK! I was quoted $240 for the sway install by my local speedshop today! I like the sound of the $74 install, though. Where in NJ is that located?

It took Park Ave one hour for the sways and three hours for the springs, and the total was $350. Saved $500 bucks by going to them instead of that "great deal" place.

I was quoted $900 for spring-sway install by Vertex. I forgot who I talked to. That includes parts & labor. I got my piaas installed for $80 in the fog holes which I think is a good deal for all that work.
