Sway bar question

What is the book time on having front & rear sways installed? I have been told 2 hours. Also, do you have to drop the sub-frame to install the front sway bar?

They take maybe a couple hours, tops, for each bar. Depends on how hard it is to remove the old endlinks.
It probably takes longer to set up and break down the job than the actual installation.

No, I do not believe one must "drop the sub-frame". I certainly did not.

Two hours for each bar? 4 hours at $95 an hour seems like a bit much!

It should only take a couple of hours for both. Mine was less than two hours for both

Hey, I never said I was in a hurry to get the job done.

What it takes me to jack up a car, set jack stands, set the car on the stands, set a big tree stump under the car as backup, remove the jack, find a bit of carpet to lay upon, crawl under and take a peek, uncrate the bar and parts, examine the end links, determine I need to cut them off, crawl back out, get a drink of water, fetch the electrical cord and sawzall, fit the blade, get a different extension cord, one with a ground, cut off the end links, get some ratchets and remove the old bar, dick around with the end links some more, set the new end links in place, grease the bar bushing, set the bar loosely to make sure it looks right, tighten up the clamps over the bushings, connect the end links, double check all the connections, crawl out, remove all the tools, move the stunmp, roll the jack back in place, jack the car up, remove the jack stands, lower the car, and get another drink of water, might be shorter or longer than for another person.

But just me, doing it in the street, is one thing.

Doing it in a shop is completely different.

Just DIY! Sway Bars are not difficult to replace.
If you have a Jack and 2 Stands (If you have 4 you can Jack the Car in all 4 wheels and do it faster) Your set!

Its wise to Replace the end-links (All 4) with the MOOGs ones if your doing this, The OEM Torx Screw might Strip easily so have a Hand Saw ready.. If they Strip they are likely done = Replace...
No need to remove the Sub-Frame you just have to giggle the Sway Bar in/out Nothing Fancy...

I would have done it myself but I already had the car in the shop getting some work done and he offered to do it for cheap so I was like why not. it is simple I need to get back underneath there to re lube the bushings because the only sent me one packet instead of two and they have been making a squish sound over bumps.
