Sway Bar Problem

Man, I haven't posted in ages. When I was driving home tonight I started to hear a clunk sound when ever the car would bounce or sway. After I got it home I was able to narrow it to my front sway bar. Although I haven't yet taken the time to jack up the front end, it seemed that every thing was tight and secure. Has anyone had any similar problems with the comptech sways?

did you install the sways yourself, or did you get a mod shop to do it for you? nope, never heard of this problem before. you should get a mechanic check it out. if it's defective parts, you could ask Comptech for a refund or exchange. when you find out what's wrong, let us know.

Well, I installed it the first time, but Comptech installed my springs, which would require them to reinstall the sway bar. That was over a year ago, so I don't think it's an install issue. I'm thinking maybe a bushing problem.??? Hopefully I'll find time tomorrow to check it out.

Dave usually problems with sway bars are either loose bolts or not enough lube on the rubber inserts. I fixed a freinds camry that was making noises by adding grease to the rubber inserts.
Check that first. Good luck!

Sounds like the end-link nuts are loose. Try tightening them with the car on the ground. Mine got loose 2 weeks after the install and once the nuts were tightened, no problem ever since.

ps. Don't remove anything - this pic came from the install FAQ.
