Suspension

I want to know what makes more of a difference the springs or the sway bar. Also is there alot of difference with a strut tower tie bar and what is a good one. On another subject what are good looking fog replacement bulbs for a relatively low cost.

what difference are you talking about? if you talk about ride quality, the springs will make the ride a bit harsh (depend on what springs you get) and the sways virtually does nothing to your ride quality. in terms of the look the springs make the car looks lower, more sporty, more agressive and the sways does nothing to appearance. for conering the sways makes a huge difference. the springs help too, but the sways is the most important thing in avoiding body roll during fast conering.

i have only gotten springs and sways so far, so i don't know if the strut tower bar is useful or not, though i am getting it soon. most people in this forum will say it makes a noticeable diff. and btw, most people use neuspeed.

bulb for what? fogs? i have the piaa platinum white. it's not as white as the hid but much better than the stock. if you want close match go with the piaa plasma, but keep in mind it's out of spec. some people here also use the catz galaxy and it seems to be a very good buy.

for hid, i think our hid is 4200k(??) and there are people here who have changed to 6000k hid. much whiter, though they are not that cheap. there are people who have changed their high beam to white bulbs too, you can search for it.

upperstrut works great if you upgrade to larger tires, it reallly doesnt do $hit anyways...well, if you get the chrome one like I got it does look pretty bad ass under the hood...if I were you, I would do springs and sways, then upper strut...i wish I lowered my car a long time ago but im having to worry 19's that's priority number one son...get springs before sways if you cant do both at the same time...good luck..Shyne

I personally have the sways and bar with no springs setup. I doubt I'd ever get springs (if i do...then H&R OEs are my only option) because of the steep driveways around my area. I just came from a friends house last night, backed up the car in his driveway so I could preserve my front lip....picked him and his girlfriend up to take them to the airport, and as I was leaving his driveway, my tips scraped. I doubt I could ever stand a 2 inches of drop, not alone 1 inch. As for the sways, well, people have complemented me on the lack of body roll in my car plenty of times. The Neuspeed competition bars are a little bit more expensive then the rest, but hey, you get what you pay for.

Strut tower bar will be better if you only have springs and no sways replaced. I have sways installed and adding Neuspeed strut tower bar didn't improve car's handling at all. However, just adding Comptech sways made a HUGE difference.
I'm not sure I'd go w/ Comptechs, though. Neuspeeds can be bought one at a time, and Comptech's front sway is the same size as my stock sway. They say it has a thicker wall on the inside, but nobody ever tested that. One member did weight them, and they weigh exactly the same. I was thinking that a thicker tubular wall would add more weight to it...

Sways had more impact on handling, something that should have been done at the factory, no ride penalty. Springs (also affect ride and have the penalty of being stiffer) the sways are an easy install, start there and see what you think.
