The car is only pulling a 14.7 in the quarter, with the Comptech supercharger....that is WEAK!!...I was expecting better numbers from the supercharger, not worth the price IMO!

LOL!! "Mr. Hyde comes alive in the Accord".....I did a quick double take on that one.

14.7 is not worth $4?00 to me, IMHO. And to think the TL-S has a much higher compression ratio, the gains would be even less.

For $4?00, I would buy a Incon Twin turbo system for my 5.0 Mustang:wow:. 225HP (noy that it's 225 right now) could easily reach 400-500HP easy with that setup.....albeit like every other car, you will have to upgrade the rest of the drivetrain.

Speed costs $$$'s!!

This is proof positive that our TL's ain't the racing machines we really want them to be. But damn it's still fun adding on some of those go-fast goodies like headers and intake. As for the supercharger I will definitely pass....not worth the money.

$4000+ is too much to spend for those kind of results IMO

Instead of the supercharger, I would trade in my TL + $4000 and get a TL-S...

You do realize the Stock V6 accord is pretty slow.

0-60 in 6.59 Thats pretty awsome. Can't wait to see what it does for the regular non type S TL.

stock av6 do high 15's to 16s, and a 14.7 slip is good, consider that the 14.7 is an average, the lowest was 14.4....

Okay so even if it runs a 14.4 now and 16 at stock, thats a gain of 1.5 seconds in the quarter for $4000....Now I'm convinced that it's definitely not worth it...I mean and I wouldn't do it, but you could spend $700 on a brand new nitrous system and get better numbers if you wanted...the supercharger is just way overpriced and way underpowered IMO!!

Those times are not only with just the supercharger, but INCLUDE the comptech headers and exhaust system. Total price...roughly $6,415 for those times...

gains

If you get the SC, it doesn't mean your stuck with those gains. You can always change the pulley to increase the psi.

You might need a transmission upgrade, but I'm just saying...
Besides the SC gives you power across the rpm band, not just peak.

Comptech is releasing the SC to run only at 4.5 PSI.

Just my 2 cents.

Yeah and smaller pulleys will also need different injectors and a really strengthened tranny. The worse thing they did in this article was say oh the Comptech NSX got 100 horses from their supercharger and the s2000 got 100 horses from it. What does the accord get, a gain of 25 horses peak and like another 20 lb ft of torque. Albeit those extra ponies and carriage pullers(torque) probably have a really flat curve throughout most of the rpm band. But, it's still not worth it.

I agree... If you guys wanted hp and a sports car... there are a lot better choices out there then the TL... You could have bought an S2000 for the same price and then spent $4K on the supercharger. A rear wheel drive setup will always be better for performance.

This is why there is not many aftermarket parts for our TL.
We do not drive a "race car" and when a company goes out to devlope a product, the gains are quite minimal.

That is sad though 25hp increase

if the gains are 25 HP

it will cost about $180 a pony (4500/25)
That is to high for a pony

I think the specs out for the supercharger are for wheel horsepower, not at the crank. I think the accord dynos around 170 at the wheels, correct me if I'm wrong. So thats a 60 wheel horse power increase if its the 230 comptech says it is.

I dunno, I just think its cool that someone actually game out with a supercharger kit that will fit our cars. I would get it...but thats just me.
