Supercharged TL

Hey, does anyone here have a supercharger on their TL. If so, where can I get one. I was thinking about that today. Anyone have any suggestions, heh, I think it'd be cool. I know I'd have to mod the **** outta everything else, but I think It'd be worth it.

Lemme know.

I think (correct me if I'm wrong) Comptech was making one but with new emittion laws, I don't think it will be coming out.....even if it did, you willing to spend a lot?

Yea, actually, I was willing to. I know approx. how much it would cost. It's the most HP gain for the money. Other than that, like a turbo, or NOS. I'm all set with those. A port and polish would be pretty expensive, about 1400, and would get me about 30-40 HP. That would be my next step, if supercharging is out. But, that'd be unique. ;-)

I don't think you'll get 30-40HP out of a port and polish. There was a post talking about shaving the heads to increase compression and HP but never saw any good data on the mod.

Take a look at A-CL and keep an eye out on the 3.5L upgrade that Dean's working on. In my opinion, that will be the one to do.

hmmm..yeah you can bore it out .3L to 3.5L, that should boost hp quite a bit. Then you can have some custom high compression pistons like 11:1 or so. The supercharger..i wouldnt go for..too much strain on our trannies..=(

A good port and polish will get you about 30 HP. Maybe more, depending on what else you have done while your car's there. If they retime everything right, maybe for batter performance. Take it to a good shop, and get a dyno. You'll see. I guess if supercharging is out of the question, I'll just have that done, with an intake, exaust, header, and throttle body redone. To bore out our engine would be real expensive. So I'm told. More than a supercharger.

Ok, what exactaly is a "port and polish"? thats done on the intake manifold right? as for shaving the heads, i though to increase compression you want to lower the amount of free space in the chamber so when the piston rises to the ignition stage theres less room so it has to compress the same amount of air and gas in a smaller space????

god i hate motor physics
