I have heard there was a TSB out on the sun roof noise. The one where they fix it with 2 sided tape.

What does the sound/noise sound like? Is it a squeek. Does it sound the same as when you push up on your closed sun roof?

I am curious, because I have about 6500 miles on my car, and I noticed that just going over the slightest bumps causes my sunroof to make this noise. Sounds the same if I push up on it slightly. Maybe glass on rubber?

Acura dealer should know how to fix the rattling noise with the shape open. rattling noise is cause by the slight gap between the rubber seal and the roof openning. Dealer use a tape to close the gap and it works very well with my car.

 

are you sure its a squeak & not a skeek? skeeks are much more serious!

 

I had the car at the dealer yesterday for an oil change. I asked them to look at it, but he wanted me to wait around another hour because a different tech than the 'lube tech' had to look at it. I didn't have that kind of time, so I will get it taken care of next time I am in.

The sound is slightly annoying. Not sure what the difference is between a skeek and a squeek, but if a skeek is worse, I would have to say its a squeek. I am not to the point yet where I am going to flame Acura's quality over it, so probably not bad enough to be a 'skeek'.

 

there are 2 sunroof squeaks, the first one is the dry seal squeak which makes noise when you push on the sunroof or go over a bump, the other is when the shade is open you hear a different issue...

 

I of course had this issue.. it's the rubber grommet on the rim of the glass that rubs against the inside metal lip of the moonroof.. they use this clear tape that they outline the very top edge of the metal in the moonroof. Took care of this problem.. tons of other people on here with that problem - Acura knows all about it. Free of charge of course.
