Stripping Window Tint

Looking to get my windows retinted, and don't want to pay a shop to do the work of removing the window tint. Read a few different ways to do it, one was with a clothing steamer, just steam the tint and it it supposed to peel fairly easily. Curious if anyone else has heard/tried this approach? Only retinting the doors, the back doors are the worst, really scratched up, the back glass is fine, and I don't want to mess with the defroster.

steaming with a towel is for the back glass and heater strips
side glass is no big deal to take off
figure an hour for the whole car
