Strange whine when car is in reverse
Hey everyone,
So when I put my car in reverse, I get a very audible (and very embarrassing) whine from the car. it is the same sound you'd think breaks to make but it happens whether the car is in motion or the breaks held.
It does get louder when I break, but I dunno how it'd be associated with them unless its the rotters?
anyways, I just had my tranny replaced (189000) and I'm about 2k into it since. had an engine mount replaced as well...
any clues? advice?
Thanks

then also what fluid did they use in the tranny...
almost sounds like the pump is already noisy , maybe low fluid
mainly designed to be quiet going foward since that is 99% of your travel
as far as EVERY car being noisy, not so much but ones likes ours do though, cause of the straight cut reverse gear that Honda likes to put in for the reverse gear

Hey everyone sorry for the late response...well the sound got worse and worse so I took it to the shop and found out I needed new Brakes!
new pads and rotors. got the rotors and now the car doesn't whine and nor does it vibrate the steering wheel when I brake!

eh, it had done that for years I always new it was the rotors...I was curious because I had JUST gotten the tranny fixed so I wanted to make sure it wasn't trans related.
I didn't want to fix it because I was saving for a brake kit. But, somehow heavy winds tore my rear bumper off the car so I have to get that fixed now
