long story short, kid wants to buy my tl-s but is short on cash, parting out the cai, and he asked if i could take the hids out to lower the price.


at first i thought this is rediculious, but my friend with a 05 rsx-s offered me money for my headlights so he could use the hid's.


anways, is it possible to swap the halogen setup from my friends rsx into the tl headlights to sell it to this kid and make 200 off my hids that will go into the rsx?

Its doable, but the TL's headlights are made to fit D2R HID bulbs, which have a different base than all halogen bulbs out there. I think it's specifically made like that so people don't jack HIDs and just plug them into halogen housing. HID bulbs into halogen housings require adapters, and I doubt there's adapters for halogens into HID housings. On top of that, the HID lenses are made to create the HID pattern properly (eg: distinct top cutoff line) so halogen bulbs into the TL wouldn't create the right pattern.

Honestly, it's not worth it. The kid's gonna want more than $200 off the price of the TL so making $200 off the RSX isn't gonna help make up the difference.

Sounds like too much trouble. Take a stand and asked for the extra cash or find another buyer.

 

i wouldn't do it, HIDs come with the car, if he can't afford it then he can't afford it.

i mean the doors came with the car too, should you take that out to make it 500$ cheaper?

 

haha dibs on the door if the kid's stupid enough to buy a car without doors!

 

alright, im going to find another buyer then; if it were just a simple 5 min switch or so i would have no problem with it but fvvck it.
