today after school i decided to drop by to see the TL-S....there lot's of people there so the dealers were all busy...

as i walked around the showroom...i decided to open the hood of the TL-S ....so i walk over pop it open and admired the engine....

when i was done i had to close it...now this is where the embarrasing part happned...
knowing that the dealers don't like it when we slam the doors..i decided to bring the hood down 3/4 of way...and drop it from there...but when i dropped it it made an odd noice...(CRUNCH ..metal on metal) i looked around and there was a dealer watching me with his customer from the other side of the room...so i acted natural and tried again

i releases the hook and tried again...but still it made an odd noise... so this time while the hood was down i tried to push it shut..(kinda like when u don't close the car door properly..and it's already close so u push it) and still it wouldn't close...
then when i reopened the hood wide open and continued to look at the engine....and when no one was looking i walked towards the RL...heheh

i guess that's the last time i open up the hood...

as i walked out..i wondered....it could be cuz the hood doesn't open the same way the previous TL's open....the type S isn't attached the grill...it opens ABOVE the grill...

oh well...that's my odd story of the day

was at the Acura dealership in montreal canada
the car is REALLY nice....i;m thinking about doing a trade in...

Was there a visible damage to the hood? If so I hope that wasn't someone's car that was waiting to be picked up!!!

 

Funny Story...I wouldn't worry too much about it. I have a TL-S and I have found that closing that hood is quite the task. I did the same thing as you...dropped it from 3/4 down. It didn't work. Tried it a couple more times, even tried the "Door not quite closed yet, just push it a bit" method with no success. I was told by a friend that it is because they use the hydrolics on the hood and you have to slam it. So, just slam it. It's a bit loud, but I believe that is the way to close the hood. Just my2 cents

 

Which ACURA dealer in Montreal?
I thought it was gonna take a few weeks longer for them to get TL-S in the showroom.
