Red face Storm Watch - Navi Style

Okay, it's a well known fact that we Southern Californians wig out when the rains come, and it's been raining off and on for a few weeks now. So...

Yesterday I had about a 1 1/2 hour drive up the freeway to some relatives for a few hours. It was pouring most of the way, and the cloud cover was all over. The Navi had some trouble, but came away pretty clean. I'm glad I knew kinda where I was going though because I had multiple "re-calculations" and "Jane" (our voice) told us once to make a u-turn if possible right in the middle of the freeway. We also drove off into space on the map a few times until it righted itself.

This is all normal under these weather conditions, right? If so, I'm glad rain is not a normal thing down here.

I live in NJ and it rains often here but my navi never failed me. Maybe you should get your navi checked out, IMO.

From what I understand, the Government has purposely built in a bit of error into civilian Navigation systems, for security reasons....maybe these systems can be used by fellows to Navigate missiles onto sensitive installations.

The earlier margin of error was upto about 100 - 300m. About a year back, the Government decided to reduce the margin of error (increase the accuracy) in civilian NAV systems to about 10m, unless the area is a sensitive one (like say near a nuclear installation).....which is why the NAV systems are pretty accurate now, and pinpoints your location on Earth, with an accuracy of upto 10 m.....as long as you are not near a high security region.

I don't think it's something that's wrong with the Acura Setup. If it continues, I'll think about having it looked at, but I'm not worried.
