Storing Acura for 3 Months

Hey guys, I own a 2001 TL with 114K on the clock. Going away to college and want to store it in my grandmas garage for about 3-4 months until I get back for winter break. The alternative would be to have my dad leave it parked outside and drive it once a week to work but the paint is starting to go and I dont want it rotting outside. I am NOT a mechanic, wondering if I just drain the gas (or leave a little left) and when I retreive it later get the oil changed and tires inflated if that will be good enough. The TL is NOT my daily driver, only put maybe 4-5 thousand a year on it nowadays and too much sentimental value to sell (first car). Opinions? Thanks

1) get a battery tender for your battery
2) top off the fuel tank and add stabil to it
3) over inflate your tires to 40psi to minimize flat spotting and park on cardboard under the tires (got this one from someone else on here).

your car should be fine for a few months like this.

when you get your car go ahead and do an oil change.

Do I need to have the battery tender plugged in 24/7? I was half hoping to cover it with a car cover and not have the hood up

Yes. Or else you can disconnect the battery after fully charged it up.

you dont' need to have your hood up. if you put the leads on thebattery with the plug rather than the clamps, all you do is plug it to the charger. plug the charger to the wall. then you can just rest the hood in the semi closed (but not all the way) position on the latch. my TL is set up this way. works well. the battery tender will not over charge your battery. it goes into float mode once your battery is topped off.

i have the battery tender junior.

Make sure to put some mouse traps under the hood/under the car. Don't want some little critter making a nest out of your wiring harness.
