Stone header install costs?

I know this has probably been beaten to death, but I can't seem to work the new search engine on our site. I got my headers today, called a place I was referred to by a friend, guy does good work. He quoted me 150-250 to install the headers. How much did you guys pay. I have a 99 TL-P. These are stone racing headers for 99-03 TL-P's. Thanks.

get a quote from him to remove the rusty cat bolts and loosen the O2 sensor. Those are the only things preventing you from doing it yourself.. it took me a couple fo hours myself... a buddy helped me finish up but it can be a one person job.

it should take a mechanic 2.5 to 3 hours to do it so it all depends on how much they charge per hour

Depends on if they fit or not. Honestly... my dealership charges $130 for Comptech and $200 for any other brand because most often they have had to make changes to the header to get them to fit (making holes larger, etc)

I paid 150 in Dallas. And had quotes from 450 to 150. I finally got my mechanic to look at some of the posts showing 2 hours labor and at 475/HR, i PAID 150.

I paid $150 - the Stones will fit, you dont need to waste your money on Comptech.

Not all Stones fit the first time. Sorry, its been proven time and time again. Two local installers I know won't even touch them anymore.

Stones probably had more combinations of problems and more individual occurances of those problems than any other brand.

I got quoted $130. $65/hour. I can get it done for $100, but that mechanic won't allow me into the work area to take pictures of the install. The other guy is allowing me to take pictures and watch the install take place.

I just had my Stone header put in. Tech said there were no fitment issues at all (downpipe, O2 sensor). I paid $225 for the header and the UR pulley so I'm not sure what each cost.

It might be high around where you are, but I got quotes as high as $700! (The price also included getting the bolts retorqued a week later.) I felt it was worth it though because the guy who did it was an Acura tech at the dealership.

Thanks,

Joe

Aftermarket headers are installed just like OEM headers. They are only pipes. As long as they fit there's no reason why ANYONE with a lift and a wrench couldn't install headers.
