Stolen Type S emblem in So Cal

I was sitting at the car wash waiting on my Type S when I noticed the emblem on the back was missing. It hasn't been out of the South Bay for the past few days so I have to conclude there are some sick kids here in the beach area. Drove straight to Peyton-Cramer and replaced it, at a cost of $33. Others, beware!

Knowing that the emblem can be easily pull off, I decided to debadged my rear. It looks cleaning and I have the confidence when I parked that they have nothing to steal.

Tell me about it. I'm never sure if I should back in or nose in a spot. Usually, I just park way out in the open anyway to prevent dings. Also, nowhere to hide if you want to be a discreet thief.

Did they damage the paint when they stole the emblem?

I don't think it really matters how you park...especially on a hot day...someone could easily just walk by and in stride pull that emblem off....Numerous times I've washed my car and debated on taking the type s emblem off....

I hope the idiot didn't use like a knife or something to take it off...happened to my cousin on his 94 GSR...those little gray VTEC emblems in the rear...some idiot used a knife or something to try and pry it off...and my cousin just said " if he wanted it that bad...I woulda just taken it off w/ my fingers for him...but why did he have to scratch my paint...." But then again...my cousin's like 5'7" and like over 200 pounds so I doubt that kid or whoever woulda lived if he caught him.

Just debadge the emblems. At least you have one less thing to worry about when you park your car somewhere. It is true we should all worry about our headlights and the whole car itself. Damn a$$holes!!!

They didn't damage the car. The emblem is just stuck on with some kind of rubber cement. When you buy the new one just peel off the backing and stick it on. Kudos to Peyton Cramer; the service guy just went out and put it on for me, no appointment, no charge....he says they have been stealing them left and right, and in fact a couple of Honda employees had theirs stolen while parked in the Honda America lot in Torrance. He says kids are putting them on their keychains. Next time you see a kid with a Type S emblem on his keychain grab him by the neck and beat the **** out of him.

I put it back on cause I'm proud of the fact I have a Type S and I wanted my car to reflect that. Just coz some snotty nosed moron took my badge is no reason to hide. I'll keep buying them maybe then I have a better chance to catch one of these thieves. It would be worth the expense to have his throat in my hands.

Lightbulb re: emlem

I'm planning on having the dealer remove it for me when they prep my car. Both the "3.2TL" and "Type S" emblem are coming off. I know it's a Type-S, and so will most people who know cars... I'm not worried about the little emblem. I may purchase little Type-S stickers and put them on down the road. We'll see....

They had some nice chrome-over-brass Type S license plate frames too, at $38. I wouldn't want to have one in place of the little emblem but when my present University of Alabama frame wears out I'll probably go with the Type S one. Or if I have to put the front plate back on I'll buy the chrome holder.
