Stock TL-P has excellent reflexes

Tonight I'm driving along a 4 lane, undivided highway, about 50mph when the excellent HID front lighting catches something in the roadway ahead. I have time to think "Gee that looks like a sheet blowing across the street, I better change lanes" and look over to notice a car beside me preventing me from changing lanes before I realized what it was.

It was a deer, hit by a motorist going the opposite direction, and it was skidding on it's side straight towards my car - and it was moving FAST!

I jammed down the brake pedal, and thanks to ABS and great poise on the TL's part, I was able to swerve onto the shoulder and steer around the warm-blooded missile just in the nick of time. The deer couldn't have missed nailing the left front of the TL by much more than a few inches.

Nice to finally hear something good about our cars. Seems like everybody's just picking at the little things lately. Good to know ABS is solid.

My car's lucky. No major scratches, no dents or dings, and never been in an accident. It's an 02 TL-P with 57.5k miles. If it's going to be in one at this stage in the game, I'd rather it just be totalled.

It happened so fast - I just remember feeling ABS and swerving hard one way and then back the other. Never a peep from the car. Perhaps I'm praising it for what should be expected of it, but it had remarkable balance for a front-heavy FWD 3500lb sedan.

Oh yeah, I drove back by later that night and it was just bloodfest all over the roadway where it happened. Glad my TL escaped unscathed.

Nice maneuver.

That would've been real ugly if you had hit that.

I almost hit a huge moose at night going about 65mph in 55. it was crossing the road and wasn't slowing down, I missed it be a few feet. If I hit that sun of a bitch my daughter and I would have been toast. Moose are stupid-ass animals.
