Post STOCK TIRES SUCK BIG ___________

I can't believe how much the stock tires suck, they're supposed to be all weather tires and they suck in all weathers! There was a slight drizzle and the ground was little wet. I stopped at the light and some stupid ass kid in a taurus was revvin at me so i was like ok let me shit on you till 60 and leave you be, light turns green, i'm peelin out and friggin fishtailin and the taurus spun for a sec and shitted on me. WTF!!! After I got control from about 70 on i easily passed him, slowed down so he can catch up and passed him again and did it again just to let him know it was just a BS launch by me. I hate this tires really really bad!!!!!!

Yes, I agree with you. Stock tires are not good performers. I tend to skid even on mellow curve if I go a little too fast. It's sometimes scary. I guess Acura gave us these non-perf tires cuz most of the TL drivers rae old and mellow... they don't drive like we do. It's time you get new tiers... better yet get 18" rims (or any size) with perf tires. Did you decide to get the CL-S rims?

I was driving in rain coming back from PA yesterday and more then a dozen or so times I felt the car lose contact with the road. Sliding isn't cool in your luxury sedan....

well, i'm still tryin to find me a set of CL-S rims. I also get the constant skidding even on the the most minor of turns. and it makes it look like i was speeding takin the turn to everyone else outside that can hear it.

Ahhh, ya kids are just hotrodding yer cars, that's all. Seriously, tho - the tires are not at all performance oriented.

Honda chose them due to the energy efficiency, and therefore they return excellent mileage figures. Tires are all about compromise: you always give something up to gain in another category. My problem w/ the OEM rubber is that the tires are so damn LOUD on coarse pavement like on the freeways here. I'll give top priority to sound when I replace them, but they will take quite a while to wear out.

The way I drive around town, though, the tires have been plenty fine for me. Maybe you guys shoulda bought a plasticky-dash IS300 (heehee)

A kid I am not the tires just blow for performance. But I don't drive the car like a old man either. And I drove the little boxy POS called a IS300 after I bought my TL and I wouldn't trade my TL just to say I drive a "Lexus". If I would have bought a lexus it would have been a GS300 or ES300.....

stock tires are adequate. i can hard corner without screeching. i took a few somewhat hard turns in the rain today, on most turns i was ok, but on the extreme ones, i slipped.

try this. next time you plan on making a hard right, speed up to it, hit the brakes pretty hard, downshift a second before you get into the turn, DONT brake during the turn, and stay as close as you can to the corner. then, go wide. push it a split second before you get out of the turn, then upshift

i rarely screech anymore

Ya I found down shifting reduces the amount of times i screech.

"Go wide"?? Are lanes wider in Canada? Just wondering.

Well, I can't really agree with your implications that our driving sucks. I'm sure it could be improved on... but I think most ppl here know pretty much how to take a hard corner. Right guys?? Nah? Dayum... does that mean we suck?

didnt mean to offend anyone, but when you take a corner, and just...TAKE IT, you'll screech no matter what your driving. after getting a few tips from a racing intructor, i found that i kept screeching to a minimum.

'go wide' meaning dont stay in the right lane (on a right turn). if you have 3 lanes to work with, go all the way to the left lane.....if you have the room.

just try it a few times.

With all the rain here in BC, my tires practically screetch and the TCS goes very frequently. The stock Mich do scuk but they are suppose to last a LONG time.

Anyways, I just ionstalled my snow tires and I have already noticed a different on moist ground. Now only if it snowed, I'd be making better use of my snows!

What planet are you people from ?? I take 90mph turns thru atlanta interstates, exits at 60-80mph, had to make a double right lane change and a 90degree right turn that i almost missed yesterday and not a peep. Those MXV4+'s are not exactly cheap shit at $130 a piece. I put them on the Accord and doubled the performance over the Turanza's (granted-for touring, not perf) I also drove in rain yesterday, never slid. But if you are driving like riceboys and trying to continue to do 80mph when it's raining, you're going to slide in ANY tires.

As is stated, these are rated for economy and overall performance for all season.

I think a few too many people forget the target for this car.. TL="Touring Luxury", not rice race toy. It sounds by the *****ing that you guys want a 7 series but only want to pay $30 grand for it (if even that).

my $.02 for the day.

Yeah, my only complaint about the car as stock was the tires. The bad news is that if you are waiting for them to wear out before upgrading, you'll be waiting a long time. I have over 35k miles on them driving aggressively on a lowered car, and I still have at least 50-60% of the life left! the good news is that it squeals LESS now than when it was new. (unfortunatly that will change when I rotate)

The squeal is a great excuse to get rims and tires though! =)

I'm tryin to be a ricer cause i don't like the tires?? okkayyy......
because i spent 30 grand on a car its ok for the tired to suck? Accellerating from a stop and always peeling out shouldn't happen stock. and take 30-40mph turns on a ramp shouldn't squeek either
