stock airbox

When I installed my K&N drop in filter after removing my resonator, I accidentally overtightened one of the screws holdin the cover down to the rest of the airbox...and now the part with the thread is a little cracked...it looks like withthe filter in place, no debris can pass through into the engine..but I wanted to be sure...anyone else has a professional opinion?
