Stereo not turning on

Hey all, I have an 03 TL and this past weekend, the stereo just stopped working, that is, it doesn't even turn on when I press the power button. I checked the fuses and all of them are intact. I remember my friend trying to put a cell phone charger into the cigarette lighter under the stereo. Maybe this caused a short circuit or something if the charger was faulty. Anyway, has anyone encountered this problem before? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

if it shorted out it would have most likely blown the fuse. There is a fuse panel on the passenger side dash as well. Did you check that one as well?

You're right. There was a fuse on the passenger side that was blown out. I replaced and the stereo is back on. Now it asks for a code which I'm assuming I can get from a local Acura dealership. Thanks for your replies.

You need to call the Acura dealer that your car was originally sold at. They will have the original paper work from when the car was bought and they should have the stereo code with it. Without it, you wont be able to use ur head unit.

Good advice.

Also, the radio code is sometimes hidden in the car itself on the side of the glove box or inside a fusebox cover.

When I needed the radio and navigation security codes for my TL, I called the Acura deralership where it was originally purchased and they gave me the codes over the phone.
