Steering Wheel Vibrate When Braking
Recently, My TL Steering wheel vibrate when I brake. For example, I'm coming to a stop or slow down on the freeway @ 70MPH...I tap on the break and it vibrate... Is not a hard tap either...
So...I check on my breaks and...everything is still good....
I bought new tire and balance ...but still do the same thing...
If you know anything ...let me know ..thank you

What about your rotors? This happened to me awhile back when i would be on the freeway and braking at high speeds (70+mph) and the wheel would vibrate like crazy. Turned out my rotors had to be resurfaced. I got new brakes while i was at it as well because my car also screached like crazy when i would just be driving around at low speeds.

I got a braking issue too. I know what warped rotors are like, but my issue is a little weird.
If I'm coming to a stop on the street from a slow speed, the braking is inconsistent. For example, if I held my foot on the brakes at a set percent, the car would alternate between light and heavy braking. It's kind of like lunging back and forth, but much much less severe. You can't even notice it unless your feeling for it.
Any ideas?

Warped rotors....as the other 3 people said....resurfacing will do no good....you will spend 15 bucks rotor and they will get back to the vibrating in less than 1000-2000 miles....i would say, get new rotors....

ABS pump could be going wrong!
But for an Alternate Solution Bleed your Brakes until you see Pure Clean Fluid and No Air!! If it doesnt solve out your ABS pump could be going south..... And thats a Heavy $$$$ piece of equipment.

I had the SAME issue, and let a Honda dealer resurface them.
They had the machine that does it without removing the rotors.
New pads, resurfacing, for $150 or so.
That was 35,000 miles ago. Brakes are still perfect.
At inspection, guy said they looked phenomenal.

Since our Master Cylinder relies on the ABS Pump that means
Without ABS Pump = No Brake Hydro = No Brakes at All.
You should really Care about Braking as Much as Speeding since its a Crucial Part of the Whole Car.
More Speed = More Brakes
I rather Stop Fast than Speeding up Fast....
Thats the Logical Equation to Me.

a good solid tree can be subsituted for weak brakes~
if still on stock rotors throw those boat anchors away and get some real brakes for the thing
you will be blown away
on pad wear: sticking caliper/failing caliper can do that, or ungreased slider parts wont allow proper movement

i have this same problem, the vibration is worst from like 65mph to 55mph and then it calms down. what rotors should i get that will work better than stock? also i dont know if i need new pads or not, but if i do what do you guys recommend? thanks
oh yeah also if i let go of the wheel and brake it starts turning to the right, what does that mean?
anyone have experience with these ebay brake kits?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-Fro...Q5fAccessories
theyre like just under 200 for 8 ceramic brake pads and 4 drilled and slotted rotors. im temped to get them

thos ebay pads are awesome...they last like 245039485 miles
DO NOT buy that shit....look up powerslot rotors and hawk hps pads (i went with this set up and am super happy)....not a lot of people like hps pads...but i love em....or go for the et300 (i think thats the name) of the pads....they seem fav on this forum....
contact excelerate or heeltoe or some other vendors on the forum and they will hook u up....i wont CHEAP out on brakes....
also any mods to the suspension ? coil over/sway bar/springs/etc ...looks like you need an alignment....i have the lifetime alignment at firestone and trust me ITS WORTH IT....
take the lifetime alignment and ask them if they can do a courtesy check for you....this will help you know if you need new brakes.....
hope this helps....

Yeah get rotors shaved, However the dealer told me my brakes were fine, i used my friends lift and they were completely shot so dont trust what the dealer says, i never will again the didn't even look obviously and yet i still paid for a "multi point inspection" I guess thats what they call their lunch break. So yeah rotors and check brakes
#24
take the old parts and your invoice for the paid inspection back to the dealer
See the Service Manager,,possibly the General Manager of the whole dealership too if you can!
Tell them a full refund is what it will take to make you happy
they have to have a goal to reach-you have to state it
No thank you, You dont want any oil changes coupons etc. for the trouble,,how could you expect to get decent service next time?! money back and go your own ways in peace
If a tech is not cking things,,thats losing them money--the reason for service dept to exist~
It also leaves them liable if you leave with less than allowed minimum on your brakes and crash...guess who you get to blame!!

did you ck the rotor thickness after shaving them? the spec is stamped on the hub
thats really important--too thin and the calipers are forced to overextend to make contact when the pads get low,,can do some bad things you dont want to know about

tip: wash then wax your rims with 3 coats of synthetic car wax,
that will cut way down on brake dust on the rims,,it slides off!
bed the hawks a few times to get them mated to the rotors,,all the grooves mountians and valleys of both need to come together and do a transfer layer of material to the rotors,,makes them work better and last longer when done correctly
DO ck the rotor thickness!!!

I see that some members have spoken about some of the rotors and pads we offer. We've put together a great package for Acurazine members.
http://store.excelerateperformance.c.../i-398965.aspx
These Acurazine brake packages are designed to improve braking performance and durability at a reasonable price. The packages include Powerslot/STOPTECH performance rotors and STOPTECH Performance pads. All of the rotors have a black e-coating on the hubs and vanes and an advanced alloy composition. The Powerslot slotted rotors for the front of most Acuras also have a Power Alloy composition and a curved vane construction, which helps reduce heat in the brake system. The STOPTECH Performance pads are a para-aramid compound, which has great initial bite and long-term performance and lower dust and noise than most aftermarket brake pads.

You do NOT need a functioning ABS modulator to have brakes. Mine has not worked or been connected since i did the 6 speed swap. If that part were to fail or a fuse were to blow and your brakes were to not work that would be a huge liability on honda. I have recently completely removed it, brakes work just fine.

Dang! That's a good deal.

[QUOTE=Karanx7;12975453]Either resurface or replace your brake rotors. You can shop around to find one that fits your budget. Sometimes, the vendors here post sales and
I have gotten new rotors brakes tires alignment and balance my tires and still getting vibration in steering when braking at high speeds

IDK....I paid $160..... 20,000+ miles ago for the brakes that I still have on my car today... got them from a vendor that is/was on this site... Brake Motive.... he is now selling them thru ebay..... mine are still perfect... unless you are racing or doing track days.. there is no reason to pay $400 for brakes
