Steering wheel shaking when I brake!!
Hey guys,
My steering wheel has been shaking when I brake. I went to the dealer the other day and they said it was probably due to warped rotors. Has anyone else experienced this? If they are the rotors, am I better getting cross/drilled rotors or just go for OEM?
Thanks

rotors for sure, my TL had the same problem when I bought it (used). If you do it yourself use a torque wrench to put on the tires, or make sure they use one instead of the impact gun. Remember these cars are very sensitive.

Your rotors as warped. You have a few options to look at when choosing rotors and they have all been discussed numerous times before. The most popular tend to be the slotted rotoras. Search around and you will find all the answers.

Problem is Rotora is hard to come by besides streetbeatcustoms and they are on backorder. Thats why I ended up going with Powerslot. Seems to be a nicely made rotor from Canada. My experience has been the USA and Candian made steel is reliable, while the chinese steel is junk (found to be used on many of the aftermarket low price rotors youget at Pepboys, Autozone, etc.)

The cross-drilled ones may crack over time ... depends on quality and a whole lot of other factors. Better at discipating heat, thus better performance (ie less brake fade). I'm not sure if I'm gonna go aftermarket brakes 'cause I'm over 87 000km and just starting to hear the squeak (when you go <20% brakes). BTW, I'm not a leadfoot driver like some other people on the board (cough cough ... ndawood ... Pure Adrenaline ... samwks ... cough cough)
