well if you had black interior you could use the wood trim looking one from walmart that wouldn't be tacky but if you had tan interior it wouldn't......or you can just upgrade to the 02-03 wood grain steering wheel option

Buy a new wheel. Steering wheel covers should have never been invented

Isn't it a Pain to replace a steering wheel? A buddy of mine did that on his 85 monte carlo, and it took a weekend.

A whole weekend?? No offense but i think your buddy needs to put down the tools. Especially on a non airbag 85 chevy.

Its no more than a 2 hr job even for a novice. Some one who knows what they are doing can do it in 30-40 min. There is a DIY on removing the steering wheel on this forum

I got a steering wheel cover from K-Mart and it matches the woodgrain and the black in my car. Most of the people that I know thought that it was part of my steering wheel and when I told them it was a cover they were shocked.

I bought a real leather steering wheel wrap that you have to sew on yourself from here http://www.wheelskins.com/index.php

They're really nice.. It takes some time and patience but worth the money

I'll take some pix and post them.

Any other steering wheen cover is garbage.

I'll be the first to admit that I didn't get it perfect at the bottom, but its on tight and feels and looks alot better than the original and doesn't make the girth too big. By all means if you want to spend the money for a new wheel go ahead. This is just an inexpensive but quality way to avoid big $$$ fixes.

Just finished stitching my Wheelskin minutes ago.. It is the sand color, which seems like the best choice for parchment interiors according to the website. however the color seems a lot lighter than i expected and according to the pictures (right now matches my leather, not my wheel), but I'm sure it will adjust after some uses.
