I have a '99 TL and as you know the newer TLs have a shiny silvery Acura emblem on the steering wheel. Is that physically part of the wheel or is it attached to it? Because I wish I had that emblem it looks a lot cooler than mine.

I am interested in this also. If anyone figures this out, it will be greatly appreciated

It's part of the airbag assembly. It cannot be purchased separately. Oh and the airbag with run you around $500 if you're interested.

Bigman was able to get some small Acura emblems that can be glued to the airbag. Do a search and you'll find the post. Don't believe he can get any more of them though.

it shouldn't really be a problem. just get one of those emblems for the trunk, and glue it on or use 3m adhesive.

not sure if they have tabs sticking out to line up with the trunk holes, but if so you can just file them off.

i did that before in my maxima with bronze metal emblems. a little foam adhesive and they stayed on for over a year. looked great too.

I guess now I'm just afraid about the whole airbag issue with the emblem flying at your face. It seems kind of dangerous and my interests has diminished as a result.

shouldnt be a problem. if they can put tv's in the wheel, this wont be a problem either. the center of the wheel just flips down when the airbag deploys, it doesnt actually fly out at you.

I want the black perl emblem more than GOD wants peace on earth... i talked to a few buddies at the service dept at my dealer, they said "good fricken luck". The emblem is attached and designed to seperate with airbag deployment, and the line on the airbag is just under that emblem. i tried to pry one off my buddies TLS ($50 i offered him) but the airbag laughed at me If ANYONE gets these, i dont care what i have to pay!!!!

Junk yards hold many things of value, unfortunatly, airbags arnt one of them their raped from the cars the day they check in...

you deployed your friend's airbag?why Don't you just swap airbags that way he gets yours and you get his w/emblem? hopefully colour is the same?
