steering pump noise

recently, timing belt and water pump was replaced. next day I started to have weaakkkkk noise coming from the steering pump. I guess some air was stuck. Wheneve I open the resorvoir cap, and steer left right few times, the noise was gone for few days.
last week, I replaced the hyd. inside the res. The noise was gone for few days, but it is back again.

Any suggestion on how to get rid of weakkkk noise coming from time to time? thank you.

When they replaced the belts they may have tightened them to much putting stress on the steering pump. Mine is actually making some noise right now which I'll be having the dealer investigate.

but the noise showed up after few weeks. And from time to time it is gone for few days. I do not think belt would do that!

If the belt is too tight, that will cause strain on the pump, could even be wearing out the bearings as we speak. Turning one direction is harder than the other.

Did you use Honda power steering fluid? Was it low?- old stuff smelled burned? etc
Basically- when a licensed shop touches your car they have to put it back together right, and if they didnt and screwed something up- they have to fix that at no charge to you
If it made the noise before they worked on it- then just ask them what it needs
If it started after they worked on it, go talk in person with the MANAGER and have it fixed
You have rights-

Be careful if it is too tight, my bearing in my pump kinda exploded in my car and shrapnel was everywhere, it sucks rolling without power steering. So I would get that shit checked.

So I'm back from the dealer and the issue seems to be fixed for now. They replaced the belt tensioner and threw on a new belt while they had things torn apart.

Belt Tensioner Part Number: 31170-P8F-A01 Price: $79.28
Total Price including labor: $109.25

Replacement Belt: Part Number: 38920-P8C-A02 Price: $14.18 (Not covered under warranty)

The belt tensioner was covered under my Acura Care extended warranty and I paid the $15 for the belt. I'll post again if the noise comes back. The tech said that the pulley was wobbling a little and that the belt had some play in it.

mine makes noise when i turn it on first time in the morning. Once it is warmed up. When I shut it off for few minutes no more noise. And it is not every morning. I doubt that it is very urgent and critical. Yes I used Honda fluid, and there was some burned smell.
