Stalling, Limp Mode, VSA & CEL
Alright... so I guess I did a really stupid thing tonight. I was washing my 02 TLS, and I noticed my engine bay was REALLY dirty. So I took some simple green and sprayed it on everything, then washed it off. After waiting about 5-10 minutes I started driving the car down the street to dry it off a bit. The car just died on the road and the CEL came on. I restarted it, and brought it back up into the cul-de-sac where I put it in neutral and began revving it up a bit to see what the problem was. About that time it died again. This time the CEL and VSA lights came on. I restarted it again, the VSA lights went away, but the CEL remained on. After a few punches to the gas, the VSA lights came back on, it didn't stall, but the car would not rev up over 3,000 RPMS. I suppose it was in "limp mode." So, tell me what you think I royally fucked up by getting something wet. I should know better as I've had TL's for 5 years now.
I'm going to leave it over night with the hood open to dry it out, and I'll fiddle with it in the morning. Coincidently I have an appointment at the dealership on Tuesday to replace my CV Joints and Axles as they were damaged in the accident I had in May, but the fucking bodyshop in Florida didn't fix it properly.
So - what do you all think?
Thanks!

heyyy thats just something usual that happens when u wash the engine comparment. i had got my ac serviced at a local shop and they alwyz clean the car and when i got onto the road it just started stalling every couple of seconds and the wheel would lock up... so it was hell.. but its not any thing u should worry about....

You can try spraying wd40 in every electrical contact point and connector you can find
When I went to clean my engine the other day- I pretreated everything with WD and covered the brake master and ps pump covers with plastic baggies
Blow dried it with the leaf blower and then started it- everything was fine
Spray away and see!
Also pull the clock backup fuse the reset the CEL - or disconnect car battery for 5-15 minutes- that will clear it too
