SS question

Question SS question

hey when i engage the SS should i not accelrate while moving it to SS? kuz when i playing around with it i was going 50 and accelrating when i moved it to SS mode and then i was in 5th gear and when i downshifted the redline flew up. any suggestion on using SS. also will shifting wrong cause damage to my engine? Is it poss to drive with SS on all the time without causing damage??

D5 to SS transition does not have any affect on the engine nor transmission.

You could use SS all the time, neither the engine nor the transmission would give a FK. So no it will not caused any damage other than you the user driving more aggressive.

well it will cause more tear and ware depends on how you drive...

if you always rev your engine and keep it at 5000+rpm... then of course the egine won't last as long....

but if you are in D5, and you constantly floor the car but release the gas right away (like when you want to pass, but then decided not to) your tranny can be shifting between 5-3-5 or 4-2-4. That can cause extra tear and wear, too...
