i was with a few of my buddies, and my friend in the front tells me to pull into sasa cuz he sees his friend in his srt4. we are talkin back and forth, and he brings up racing me and i was like nah i can't afford anymore speeding tix or something to happen cuz its poorin bad out. he calls me a pussy and says dude u got the type s i wont smoke u that bad. so i was like o well if he dusts me he dusts me no big deal. so we both pull onto the road [which is empty] and we both pegged it and went up to 95 miles per hour, and then i seen a red light so we both stopped and was like damn what do u have done to ur car and i told him it was stock. is my 02 type s really faster then his car, or does he just not know how to drive a stick that well. becasue i always thought the srt4 would dust my car. i mean he has like intake exhaust and blowoffs.

 

srt-4 have 12 lbs of boost stock or some shit like that.. i know three people who have the mopar stage 3 to stock and one runs 12s the other two run 13.8 stock. its designed for speed NOT looks remember. would u rather spend 20,000 on a NEON or more on luxury...? thats my thing. I was looking at them and after i drove it, the cars speed factor wore off....

 

yea i was really surprised i beat him. i mean i thought that car was really fast [but i would never drive a neon] so i was thinkin maybe he doesn't know how to drive a stick cuz i had a pretty damn good lead on him

A stock SRT-4 is a tad faster than a stock WRX. With exhaust, intake and blowoffs he should have smoked you. He either isn't good at driving a stick or did you notice him spinning in first or second trying to pull too hard in the rain? Props for beatng him. I raced a 04 maxi last week in my 99 tlp with just headers and k&n filter and beat him easily and no one could believe me. The driver makes all the difference!

 

yea we were both spinning i had vsa off. i think he just can't drive a standard too well because i know the type s is fast, but i know it isn't as fast as that. plus i am completly stock. by the end of the summer i will have intake exhaust and some headers [stone] i also want to put in a drop for some better handling.

 

those are all great ideas, also get ur crank pulley and thermoblock TB spacers. My next purchase will be UR crank pulley and AEM CAI. I have stone headers now and you will love them, awesome power gains. It feels like the 25HP gain they claim.

 

It's still a neon...
