SRS warning light - Info just in case your's comes on

My SRS light came on last week. I did a search through this board and got several most likely scenarios as to the cause. I also checked my Helms and reset the light because the air bags will not deploy in an accident if your SRS light is on, even if the problem causing the warning is minor. The two most common causes are a sensor switch in the driver's seat belt buckle, and a sensor under the front passenger's seat cushion. In my case, it was the former, as I just got it back from the dealer today. Even though the car is out of warranty, the seat belt is actually warrantied for the life of the car, so Acura replaced it for free. Just something to keep in mind in case your SRS light comes on and you are loathsome to take it to the dealer because you're not in warranty anymore.

Just had the SRS light on my 2000 TL come on a little while ago. I took it to Acura of Ocean, in Ocean, New Jersey and they checked it out for me. They found that my passenger side seatbelt buckle had gone south.

Conveniently, the seatbelts are lifetime warranty items, so the repair was on the house.
