Unhappy SRS light went on while I was driving

While I was driving, the red SRS light came on. I then pulled over and turned off the car and then started it up again. The light is still on! In the morning when I started my car, the yellow REQ'D Maint light came on. I just came home and reset the REQ'D MAINT light, but the SRS is still on. What could be the reason? I'm also worried that the dealership might say something about my alarm I got installed (last week). Does getting an alarm on the car void any warranties?

By the way, my car has only 6k miles.

Uh oh, it may be a faulty air bag system. Don't delay, bring it to the dealer's right away and get them to fix the problem.

When I had my aftermarket alarm installed the next day after picking up my new 2000TL the red SRS light was on. I took it to the dealear the next day & they fixed it. It might not be the alarm causing the problem or it could be. When they fixed my light I had no more problems with it & thats been almost 2yrs. I have not had any prolems with the aftermarket alarm in that time also.
On the 2000 models they had the seatbelt latch recall on the cars. This also had something to do with SRS system & the light.
It may be also do to the car being turned on & off alot when installing the alarm. With this being done it may trip a sensor to set off the light. I don't know but this is my take on the situation.
If the alarm was installed the proper way it should not be a problem with warranty. The owners manuals specifly HONDA/ACURA try to scare you with this. I look at at this way I spent $1000.00 on my aftermarket alarm this is not some little crap device. The factory alarm did not give me the features I wanted such as anticarjacking RPM autolock,shock/motion sensor. This does not in anyway alter the car from stock.

SRS warning is most common problem that I know. Lot of members have already had this problem. I don't really think that might be caused by alarm. Just take it to the dealer and find out what the problem is. It can be anything. I can be just faults code, wiring, airbag hardness, airbag sensor, module... Find out what went wrong and we'll go from there. I sure that it'll covered.
