SRS Light Again
well i had my srs light reseted about a month ago from the dealers. Today it came back on when i started my car. I called the dealers and they say this time they want to charge me a 100 dollars for diagnostic thing. What do you think i should do? Is there a way i can check it out for my self first? A way i can reset it.

No way you can check it out. There is a way to reset it yourself, do a search the instructions are on the forum. If it comes back on Id bring it in. It may be a faulty opds which is covered to 80k. When the light is on none of the air bags work
Also did you have a laptop or cellphone laying on your seat? they can cause it to come on

i have a 2000 tlp and mine came on a few times (about 4) and my dealer fixed it everytime for free. each time it went on they said it was something different and one of the times they said it was a recall. the last time they told me i was out of warranty but they fixed it out of good will.

i know of the recall and its covered til 150k i have 95k on my car as of today. The thing that gets me is that they wanna charge me a 100 dollars to look at it. I've tried reseting it before and it didnt work so dont wanna bother with that. The dealers can just reset it and see before they go on about charging me. It just doesnt make sense to me when they clearly know theres been a recall but still wanna charge me to look at it. Anyone around stockton have some opinion on which dealers to goto. Personally i dont like the stockton ones, they can be asses.

To reset your SRS (this is what it looks like on many of the CL's and 2nd Generation TL's (including Type-S)
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...G_3593copy.jpg (MES connector)
You need to jump it with a paperclip or piece of wire before you turn the key ignition to on.
then as soon as the light goes out, remove the jumper
the light will turn back on...
put the jumper wire back in...
the light should turn off and blink twice and stay off...
http://www.geocities.com/myintegra96/SRSResetPics.pdf (worked on my 2003 TL-S)
I tripped a srs code (forgot to unplugg battery while working on my dash....bad idea)
Note: when the light blinks twice, it indicates that the SRS computer has received the Memory Erase Signal (MES)
Good luck and be carefull, make sure you have the right connector (smaller yellow one). I used a long piece of copper wire so i could keep my distance. I have a degree in comp sci, and i really dont trust the thing : )

"This warranty extention does not apply to any vehicles that have been declared a total loss, or any that has been issued a salvage, branded, or similar title under any state's law."
Also they charge a diagnostic fee for looking to see if the OPDS unit or sensors are at fault. If they are at fault then you don't have to pay for the diagnostic fee.
Youn can always call acura client services about the warranty extention if you don't beleave the dealer.

From another post...I was told to call Acura Care and have them check if the extended warranty was in place. It is on mine. Called dealer and they looked up my records and the previous problem was the OPDS sensor. Said to bring it in and if it is same sensor/module then it is covered.
