I bought my car with the SRS light on.. 1 year, and 11k miles later, its still on, hasnt affected me at all, im just tired of seeing it, how to i get it to go off? whats the cause of it being on? thank u

 

its means the airbag system is turned OFF for malfunction reasons
was the car in an accident before you got it?
salvage title?

if not- it could be part of our special 10 year 150kmiles SRS warranty
there are a few parts that fail, and as a result we got the extra warranty time !

first ck our DIY section for the SRS reset and try that
if that keeps it off- great

If it comes back, go to dealer for help under the srs warranty (assuming in limits)

 

The guy I bought it from tried telling me it had something to do with the seats ?he had the seats replaced and that light has been on ever since, but, it was in an accident,he told me it wasn't in any accidents, but the guy I bought it from was a member on this website and I ran into his page one day! Lmao and sure enough, it was in an accident, nothing major thou, title is not salvage it was a good NJ title.. I was searching for DIY on it but couldn't find anything,.. I use my blackberry about 90% of the time for internet ( if it wouldn't be too much to ask, could u link me to tha DIY? ),.. I have a 2000 tl, which puts me past tha 10 year waranty lol just my like..I appreciate the help bro

 

If it was in an accident where the airbags went off you may need a new srs module.

Try what is in this link to reset it. If it doesnt work you have other issues. Just remember while that light is on NONE of your airbags will work in an accident.
