Gonna hit AAP tomorrow and scan it, then I'll do the rest by shorting at the MES connector. Then, I'll call the SERVICE MGR if it comes back again (you are so right about that point, techs are by the book guys)

Only thing I've done is replace the starter motor about 6 weeks ago, other than that, oil changes and that's pretty much it. Battery is a little low on the CCA #, and today was 100 degrees and wicked humid. Wondering if system threw code that inidcates SRS couldn't charge properly due to low amps/voltage (I think I had this happens years ago, was time to replace battery).

Not convinced it is battery just yet, it is about 3 years on a 4 year autozone battery.

well not that i recommend it but how about opening up your dash and black electric tape on the SRS light?

Quick and cost effective

get the battery tested at parts stores before proceeding with diagnosis- you may be right on with the low voltage
any battery lasting 3-4 years in a TL is doing good for you!! (optimas last longer)

TIP: drive 30-45 minutes on freeway before test so battery is as full as alt will get it.
Then it can be safely load tested- simulating a max load surge,(lights/ac stereo all on while at idle) and watching its abilty to recover from that

the reason NOT to tape over the light is
A: you have NO airbags when light on
B: usa cars have a 10 year 150,000mile SRS warranty--
as ordered by the court no doubt--we score on those cases!!
