squeaky suspension?

Hey everyone. I'm hoping someone can shine some light on this problem on a 2003 TL-p with about 71,000 miles...

so when im driving and going over small/medium/large bumps in the road, i hear this "squeek, sqeek" coming out of my front left side wheel area. I believe its the suspension. reason why is because when in park, i push down on the front hood in that area and you can hear the "squeek, squeek." it sounds like an old door on its hinge... thats always turned out good with some WD-40. weather here in NY lately has been cold and sorta wet, mayb thats wearing out the oil? its annoying as hell, and im afraid my suspension is going...

my thought is this... drop some WD-40 in that suspension area and hope it doesnt happen again.
do you think it may be my suspension losing its elasticity or something? gotta change em out? its only coming out of one area, and its that front left wheelwell.

please help me out... i dont really want to spend alot on something simple to fix.
thanks in advance for any advice/input!

called the dealership today and they told me im not longer covered under warranty... at 71,000 miles?! they told me im only under a airbag light warranty which does me no good right now. i've had the car for bout 4 1/2 years now. knowing my mom she probably didnt get the extended warranty on the car. doesnt buying our cars brand new cover warranty up to 100,000 miles? am i getting duped here??

btw... do a search on squeaky suspension. you'll find some stuff. its mostly lubrication of the ball and joints.

thanks everyone.

I have the same problem with my 03 TL-S. I'll have to do the search and see what can be done to fix it myself.

uncald i didnt understand the end of your sentence... but basically... no extended warranty = no free ball replacement correct?

i think my squeeks been there for awhile... whats the worse that could happen if i go a couple more days / week b4 i actually get to a shop??? school and work just takes up all the time i have during most shops opening hours...

anyone know how much it'll be to replace something like that? or should i just go aftermarket and get an entirely separate setup?

thanks for your help everyone.

so yup if you got that creaking noise coming from your suspension when going over bumps or when your parked and you go and put pressure in that region... your lower balljoint needs to be changed.

my warranty ended last august [fudgee] and i had to pay out of pocket. i think i got doped... but owell. damage = $409.46.

part costed $59.95, 2 hrs of labor at $105 an hour. and i need an alignment too so that ran me another 99$. plus bout $36 worth of tax.

if you can find an independent mechanic... get it done there.

good luck! and thanks for everyone's help!

That's about what I paid. Nice $400 squeek. Good thing we don't own a Mercedes.

So do I and I am starting to think it's my ball joints too. I also get a nice rattle over bumps. That's been there for a while now. Any idea if the ball joints could cause the rattling noise?

its more like clunks than a rattle, but check it by prying on the rear of the knuckle and the bj, doing it by hand may not move it enuff, did it today by hand, then thought to use a prybar, and it poped in and out on both sides...

btw OP u got raped, plz tell me they did both sides, and not just the driver side....im getting mine done tommorrow 60 bucks for both bjs, and 80 bucks labor...

i need my ball joints replaced soon too, my local dealership says the sleeve on the drivers side front is ripping and i'll start hearing the squeaking soon.

In 2007, he wanted $400 to replace plus $100 for an alignment. Two weeks ago he wanted $500 to replace and $100 for an alignment. NO WAY IN HELL I'M PAYING THAT KINDA MONEY for this.

I'll probably just buy the balljoints from the dealer and bring them to a small shop to do. I don't know too much about these, but I don't think its too terribly difficult to replace. And since I'll need another alignment, I might as well drop the ride another inch or so
