squeaky seat? where is it coming from?

When I took my car back to the dealer to get it fixed the seat wasnt making any squeaking noises, go figure, but not everytime I have a passenger in it all it does is squeak and annoy me. My friend and I think its coming from the passenger seat belt holder thingy. The place where you clip in the seat belt. Has anyone else fixed this problem? I need to take it back to the dealer to let them know. Any advice would be great, thanks!

it's probably the passenger's buckle.....I think it squeaks at the hinge. The driver's buckle was just replaced in my '00 TL by the dealer. I don't know if it's squeaking anymore because my mom drives the TL I drive the TL-S.

Spray some WD-40 on the seat belt buckle hinge. That's the hinge under the rubber flaps.

China,

One way to localize the noise, like i was able to do, is get behind the seat and lightly tap the seat back. Tap harder to cause enuf vibration to rattle it and see if you can recreate the sound that's annoying. I did this and found the problem not to be the seat buckle thing, but that little black plastic cover on the left rear bottom side of the seat that hides the bolts, near the floor. I then inserted a small piece of cut rubber heater hose behind that plastic, and it has stopped the rattle. Anyway, try to localize the noise yourself first and take it from there.

It's weird - my passenger seat started making some creaking noises just last weekend. It's not the squeaking you're referring to, and this seems like it's coming from the seat cushion or the seatback. It's not consistent, but i've heard it twice now on the freeway with my gf. No - before you ask - she's very slight!! But I've had a co-worker of mine whose probably around 235-245 and I haven't heard it?!?

I imagine it'll be hard to recreate at the dealer, but I'll have to try since it drives me nuts! But tonight I heard it on the way to dinner....but not on the way back! Any thoughts?

I have the same noise when someone sits in the passenger seat. It isn't the typical noise from the seat belt buckle, it seems to be coming from the seat cusion in my car. I am going to take the seat apart and put some padding around where the springs connect.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll try that. What I usually do is just let the acura service man ride in my car, but usually were on a smooth road. Im going to take him on a bumpy road just incase I cant find the problem. Thanks again!! :p

My seat was moving a lil when i would hit the gas or brake hard. So, while the car was in for engine work, i let them fix it. They changed the seat bottom bracket. No more squeeking seat belt.
