Post Squeaks and Rattles

I've had my car for about a month now and it recently rained in SoCal. While driving in the rain I heard some squeaks coming from the passenger side when I am on bumpy roads. Also I hear loud water noise from both sides of the car. It sounds like water hitting a hollow piece of plastic. Anyone else with these promblems?

I had that problem with the Accord V6 EX coupe, but not on the TL. However, I do have sqeeks and can't pin point them...sucks, but I learned to deal with it, turn the music up.

Satin --

The loud water noise -- I have the same thing -- it's happening for a couple reason: 1.) the wheel wells aren't very large, and 2) the water is spraying up against the plastic underwall in the wheel-well. It's normal, however I did notice that the sound was less "loud" when I had my mudguards installed three days after I picked it up (rained and snowed the day i picked it up, so I know the difference).

The squeaks -- knock on wood, I don't have any "squeaks", but over bumps and rougher roads I do hear leathery noises that sound like two pieces of leather, or two pieces of molding rubbing up against each other -- kinda annoying, but nothing outrageous.

Best of luck.

Just when I thought my TLS was squeak & rattle free

Was on a bumpy road today and these rattles started coming out of the passenger side of the dash. The rattles were fairly loud and no this is not the first bumpy road I've been on since buying my TLS. No coins glasses or other stuff in the storage areas either. Just passed 1000 miles on it over the weekend .....

The rattles disappear when i'm back on a smooth road.

Didn't you all get the Bumpy Road Package?? It was only another $15.00 and it included on-site sound dampening, thicker foam insulators for all the dashboard wiring -- plus two additional floorboards made out of recycled wood and epoxy resin to keep the road noise outta the cockpit.

No squeaks or rattles. I didn't notice water noise during rain. I'll pay attention next time.

Did you eat at a restaurant and take home a "doggie bag"?

Sometimes the restaurant will use a styrofoam container to hold your food.

This will squeak real bad and can drive you nuts if you don't find it.

Check to make sure you didn't leave one of these in your car.

I bet that's the problem.

Lawrence,
For someone who left an entire ham in the back seat, advice on squeaking coffee cups shouldn't be on your agenda ( but at least the ham didn't suqeak, I guess). LOL + j/k.

The only rattle I get are from
1. sunglasses (I told my wife it's coming from her side and she told me if was coming from my side....and we almost had to start an argument)
2. sunroof (shut the sun shade and you won't hear a thing)
3. seatbelt (not as often as the other cars I have)
4. psychological effect.....

Unhappy

I don't have ham, styrofoam, no coffee cup, nor dead body in my car....(j/k on the dead body part)...

I can't even locate where the squeak is coming from. The problem is when I am driving, I can't go back and check or etc..

I will check all of those while driving in the parking lot.

Thankx.

Have 1200 miles on my Silver TL-S with no squeeks or rattles except one minor noise I traced to my sunglasses laying in the overhead glasses holder. Putting a little foam tape in there to keep them from bouncing around cured that problem. Otherwise, it's been one of the quietest cars I've owned. I have mud guards installed and don't hear any unusual noises driving in the rain. Maybe that helps?
