Squeak coming from the front end!!!

I've been getting this annoying squeak from the front end lately, at first it was on the driver side and now it is on the passenger side as well. I would get out of the car or just push down or pull up on fender and it'll squeak.

I've been to the dealer 3 times just for this and each time I get there, the squeak is GONE!!! Figures that right before I leave for the dealer I hear it and when I get there I can't.

What the hell could it be? Does it have to do with the cold weather??

Btw, just a couple of days ago it would squeak while turning the wheel left and right. I jacked it up and it doesnt squeak when it is in the air. So it shouldnt be the sway bushings right?

I take it to the dealer just to show them and they hear it but they didnt have time for me that day since it was late. The next day they cant replicate the problem again!!

Any ideas? I've already suggested lower ball joint but they wont even look at it until they could replicate the sound.

My car was making the sae noises recently. I asked the dealer to look at it when I took it in for service but they said that they couldnt find anything wrong. I got them to spray everything down with some silicon grease and that got rid of the squeaks. This was about 3 months ago and I havent heard anything since.

I had the same problem 3 times. The problem is the ball joints. they lubricate the joints than the noise goes away. they tell me they can't replace it unit they fully break, so I to go back and get them lubed like every 7,000 miles. Take your car to acura of valley stream, they fixed it for me. I had the same symptoms as you guys, so I pretty sure that is your problem.

Mine started sqeaking a little, but got louder over time. Maybe wait till it gets a little louder than bring it. The first time I went the noise was not that loud so I pushed down on the front end like you did to make the noise. When he heard that he knew what it was.

I have the same noise and it sometimes feels as if the car tends to drop more on the drivers side also.

I love my TL, but damn why so many annoying problems? Am i right? Anyways, i had the same problem before as well; i thought it was my shocks and springs because i had it installed like a week before the noise started to appear. He took it out and put it back on and it was still there, so it wasn't the shocks or anything. He examined it further and touched and pushed something back and now its ceased. I really don't noe know what it could be but yea. I also have another noise - each time i turn my steering wheel left, it clicks, but im sure its not the axle because disappeared before and came back. I think it has something to do with something touching...

i assume you mean the sway bar bushings? if so just replace them. They are like $3 each at the dealer and will take you about 10 minutes to do. I had horrible sqeaking in the back of the car and thought it was my struts, but it turned out to be the bushings were worn. Got new ones and the sound was gone. Now the front is starting to act up so i might just do the same thing.

The mild winter we have here at Toronto doesn't help much since the squeaking that I hear seems louder when it's really cold (like a haunted house creaking door). I brought it to the dealer and they apparently replaced/lubricated the bushings. Sure enough, a few days later, the squeaking came back again. So I brought it back and questioned the service tech if they actually test drove it after they replaced the bushings to see if that was the actual problem, and they could not confirm that they did (did not say "test drove" on the work order.). So they worked on the front-end again and they say now it's the ball joints, so both front ones were replaced.
After I picked it up, I noticed the car has a bit of toe-in like when I first got it and now drives like a charm........with no squeaks!!!!

I now noted that the car used to wander from a straight-line when accelerating hard especiallly on uneven pavement before the ball joints were replaced and the steering did not "return" as quickly. So these were the signs of worn-out ball joints.

It like new again!

At 59,000 kms (about 40,000 miles) the ball joints wore out prematurely. They said it's the modern manufacturing method that makes the ball joints wear out sooner than normal. Don't know exactly what that meant.

This is true. I found out about my ball joints here first. Read up on the problem and than went to Acura with some ammo.. I sounded like a pro, so they didn't bullshit me and lubed my joints with no problem.

Well after another visit to the dealer just when I drop it off at closing they hear the sound and the next morning when they try to check it it disappears. It has been very random and I have no clue. Just the other day, the morning it was squeaking..... later it in the afternoon it stops, and late at night it starts again.

:sigh:

If it is the ball joints, how much for parts and approximate for labor? I will just get it done else where.
