Comptech springs which are made specifically for ur TL. It will lower ur car around 1"-1 1/2". U won't really feel much of a difference in the ride but ur handling will be much better.

There are so many different sets of springs you can get, Comptech, Eibach, H&R, even coilovers which comes with the shocks, Skunk, Ground Controls, Apex'i.

Just click on parts on the left side of your screen, you'll get the listing and prices, you really can't go wrong with any of them.

I'm thinking of going with Ground Controls.

If u got the right offset u won't have any problems lowering ur car, especially with the comptech drop being small.

Question

Also with the Comptech springs should I change my shocks too.

I rather not cuz wanna keep the price low but dont wanna kill the life of my shocks by installing low sprins

Have you guys done this and foe how long now?

you could go with 225/45 or 215/45 in a 17". make sure you get the right offset. i think the ideal offset for the '96 is +48-52. BUT, if you go with cheaper rims a.k.a. 1 piece knock-off rims, then youre not going to have really any luck getting those offset. theyre usually around +45 and lower.

The good thing about the comptech springs is that they were designed to work together with the TL's shocks

Is there anyone out there with 18's on their TL thats lowerd and have no problems with rubbin. what springs and wheels you got, so I can compare.

The good thing about the comptech springs is that they were designed to work together with the TL's shocks

they will definately wear the stock shocks out faster. might take a few years to get problems, but they will die much sooner than normal

thats the only reason i dont have them
