Springs & Coilivers between in 2003 TL-S?
Springs only replace the springs. Coilovers replace the entire strut assembly.
Springs are not height-adjustable. Coilovers are height-adjustable, and depending on model, damping-adjustable.
Eibach Pro-kit or H&R Race springs drop the car by 2 inches or more. Coilovers also have the capability to go that low, or even lower.
Of course, coilovers are much more expensive.

i know coilovers is much more expensive than springs.....and i used Tein Spring to drop my TL....now i wanna change to Tein coilovers....should i go for that?
is it drop much more than wut i had now?
is it drop much more than wut i had now?
coilovers in the grand scheme of things arent much more money.... although most people dont, you are supposed to replace the struts (shocks) when you lower a car. stock struts arent designed to work with a lower ride height. if you replace the struts and the springs your looking at appox $850. springs $250, struts $600 (about $150 per corner for good quality) coilovers from tein for the tl run approx $1000, so if you replace the stuts and springs your only saving approx $150 dollars or so for the adjustable ride hieght
The coilovers can be much lower than springs overall. The reason why you would get a Coilover is 1)Lowering 2)Suspension and Turning Capability has improved 3)Your OEM shocks are dead. The ride..may however differ between each settings...while a spring is just for lowering and the quality of the ride is set. Having springs will shorten the life spam of your OEM struts. So..if you have the money get Coilovers, if you are just going for lowering your car..get Springs. Springs will give you a better handling, but not a BIG difference as a Coilover/Sways. Also, with the Coilover, you get to control the height difference of the drop, while the springs you can't.

but only if you have the money to do at one time
the Tein SS coilovers are over 1100 CAD in most places
the Apexi will cost you way less, around 650CAD
btw i have a 02 TLP

only 650CAD shipped it's even cheaper than springs/shocks replacement
and it's height adjustable
however it cannot change the softness, just one setting, but it's gd for daily driving~
the Apexi are very gd, but the Tein is just superior, however i won't pay that price for such coilovers, while the Apexi is already 90% of the Tein
if you want to buy the Apexi i can hook you up on a group buy but it will close on wednesday
you will get that b4 the christmas...hopefully
acutually i got a set of H&R sports springs for sale and they are sitting at vancouver now~
most of the TL members have that set up with their car and it comes close with the coilovers except you cannot adjust the height~
if you want them i can give you a gd price and you can pick them up right away, it's in vancouver... how does that sound?

Just thought I'd chime in...
For those of you in the snow belt... and are thinking of coilovers and drive your cars in winter... you can probably say good bye to the height adjustability after a winter season....
The reason is they rust and then become hard to adjust. Back in the day I was talking to Astroboy, and he had Zeals on his so he knows... and also the rust on my older COMPTECH's proved it... (although they were defective to begin with they still shows that it rusts a lot quicker here due to SALT !), he said something to the effect that if its NOT a daily driver then coilovers are ok... but did not reccomend it as a dialy driver.
If all you are going to do is set once and then not touch it then you should be fine... but then why not just get springs and shocks ?
Also keep in mind that whenever you "play" with the height it will throw your alignment off... so you'll need an alignment.

Tein SS gives you a chance to adjust the dampening level in addition to the height adjustment.
Tein SS is a better choice if you want to be able to refine your ride quality. But you will pay for it. If you like the ride as it is now with your Tein S spring, then just go with the Apex'i .
Here's an alternate idea: track down a set of adjustable Tokico Illumina struts and shock for the Accord V6 and you can have dampening adjustment w/o buying a completely new system....
